Lovely Books - Couples

I have returned for the second edition of Lovely Books, a linkup created by one of my favoritest people in the world, Tracey @ Adventure Awaits. If you missed it, each Saturday in February she’s posting a new edition centered all around those glorious things we call books. She’s leaving the linkup open until March 5th, and you can join in all the editions or just a few, or even combine them. So get on over to her blog and check it out! I mean, PEOPLES. It’s about books. What more do you need?

Obviously I’m fashionably late, that’s how I role. *sips coffee* Tracey has 3 editions up and I’m only now getting to the 2nd. Last week I got to squeal about some of my favorite covers and titles. This week it’s all about. . .COUPLES!!! Oh yes! I get to fangirl about all my favorite adorable peoples that NEED to get married. And there will be much flailing and fangirling, so continue with caution.

I tried to limit this to only 10 couples. Hahahaha! That didn’t happen. What can I say? I ship ‘em hard.

So let the adorable, shippableness begin!

(Click on the book covers to go to their GoodReads page.)

Howl & Sophie
Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

These two go first because, oh my poor heart, I have NEVER shipped two individuals so hard in my life. NEVER. The first time I read this book I honest to goodness hurt physically I was shipping so hard. Howl is a full-of-himself wizard with a heart buried deep, deep somewhere (*snickers* if you’ve read the book you know why I’m laughing), while Sophie is all no nonsense and can handle Howl’s tantrums and ridiculousness like a pro. Not only are they my favorite couple EVER. They’re my favorite fictional characters. That’s right. My favorite. That’s how much I love them. I need to move on otherwise I’ll turn this into a whole Howl and Sophie love-fest. BUT HOWL AND SOPHIE. <333333

This picture sums them up perfectly! True love, am I right?

Walter & Ashley
Dragons in Our Midst/Oracles of Fire series by Bryan Davis

That’s Walter, and Ashley is the dark haired girl.

What? You thought I’d go a post without mentioning something about Howl’s Moving Castle and a Bryan Davis book? Ha!

But GUYS. Walter and Ashley! Walter is a fun-loving, carefree, jester of a boy, and possibly one of the most endearing characters in literature. The world is ending? No problem! Walter will lighten the mood with a cheesy joke and then turn around and help save the world. He’s amazing. Then we have Ashley, who is basically the smartest person on the planet. Very levelheaded and serious. Put that with Walter’s personality and the world explodes. . .with awesomeness. The old saying “opposites attract” soars with these two. I just. . .I can’t. They’re too much.

Sapphira & Elam
Dragons in Our Midst/Oracles of Fire series by Bryan Davis

Sapphira is on the left.
Sadly, Elam does not make it onto any of the book covers.

Yes, another from the same series. I can’t help it! Sapphira is actually my favorite character from the whole series and Elam is just precious. I don’t know if I’ve ever read about a couple who has suffered and endured and waited so long. Rory and Amy from Doctor Who have nothing on these two. Their story hurts me. I’m trying to not give anything away but. . .ugh. I just want to hug them!

Shasta/Cor & Aravis
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Horse and His Boy by C.S. Lewis

On a lighter note, this romance. XD I’m just going to quote the last paragraph of the book to explain it all:

Aravis also had many quarrels (and, I'm afraid, even fights) with Cor, but they always made it up again: so that years later, when they were grown up, they were so used to quarreling and making it up again that they got married so as to go on doing it more conveniently.

Best. Romance. Ever.

Faramir & Éowyn
The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

I could rant to the end of my life and beyond about how they messed up Faramir’s character in the movies, or The Two Towers at least, but we’re focusing on BOOK characters, not movies. The BOOK Faramir is one of the most amazing characters in the entire trilogy. While Éowyn is my absolute favorite female Tolkien character. Éowyn’s heart was broken in so many ways, and Faramir came and healed her, offered her a new life, free of sorrow. Again, I’m just going to quote the book so you can see for yourself:

And Eowyn looked at Faramir long and steadily; and Faramir said: “Do not scorn pity that is the gift of a gentle heart, Eowyn! But I do not offer you my pity. For you are a lady high and valiant and have yourself won renown that shall not be forgotten; and you are a lady beautiful, I deem, beyond even the words of the Elven-tongue to tell. And I love you. Once I pitied your sorrow. But now, were you sorrowless, without fear or any lack, were you the blissful Queen of Gondor, still I would love you. Eowyn, do you not love me?”
Then the heart of Eowyn changed, or else at last she understood it. And suddenly her winter passed, and the sun shone on her.
”I stand in Minas Anor, the Tower of the Sun,” she said; “and behold! the Shadow has departed! I will be a shieldmaiden no longer, nor vie with the great Riders, nor take joy only in the songs of slaying. I will be a healer, and love all things that grow and are not barren.” And again she looked at Faramir. “No longer do I desire to be a queen,” she said.
Then Faramir laughed merrily. “That is well,” he said; “for I am not a king. Yet I will wed with the White Lady of Rohan, if it be her will. And if she will, then let us cross the River and in happier days let us dwell in fair Ithilien and there make a garden. All things will grow with joy there, if the White Lady comes.”

I CAN’T.

I so wish they had been given more screen-time together in the movies. Their romance is beautiful.

Angel & Easton
Dark is the Night by Mirriam Neal

I’m kind of cheating and adding characters from books that aren’t published yet. But they NEED to be. *looks pointedly at Mirriam* (You can click the book cover to go to her amazing blog.) This is a pair that make me squeal and flail and howl in laughter and collapse in tears all at once. They’re just. . .UGH. I can’t. Angel is all snark. ALL of it. He’s actually one of my top favorite fictional characters on the planet. (I love the snarky ones, okay?) Then we have Easton who is my precious baby girl. So nice and adorable, but will also put Angel in his place when she has to. Or throw her shoe at bad guys. (Mirriam writes the BEST characters.) Easton’s goodness softens Angel’s hard heart, and turns this seemingly selfish guy into someone who would sacrifice himself for his friends. My heart is swelling just THINKING about them. *melts into a puddle of feels*

I definitely don’t watch this show, these are just the actors Mirri basis Angel and Easton off of.

Azrael & Rooney
Paper Hearts by Mirriam Neal

Another unpublished Mirriam book, but I couldn’t make a list of favorite couples without adding these two. Azrael and Rooney are very Howl and Sophie-like. Azrael is this ridiculous (rather selfish) guy and often completely infuriating. Also he can do magic. Throw in little, fiery Rooney who insists he take her on to be his apprentice in exchange for cooking and doing his dishes and you’ve got a world of hilarity. I seem to have a thing for bickering couples. *points back to The Horse and His Boy quote* My heart almost exploded I shipped these two so hard.

Teague & Meridian
The Other Half of Everything by Deborah O’Carroll

This is the LAST unpublished novel, I promise! But TEAGUE AND MERIDIAN. This book isn’t even completely past the plotting stage yet, and I already hurt I ship them so hard. Teague is an absentminded writer who tends to forget what he’s talking about or what’s going on. He’s too busy thinking about his stories after all. Meridian is his practical, feisty housekeeper who doesn’t understand writers at all and doesn’t even like to *le gasp* read. Put them together and hilarity ensues. They also may or may not travel to different worlds together. See? They’re amazing. Just go read this interview between them. It. Is. Perfect.

Mendenbar & Cimorene
The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede

If you’ve never read this series then get off of my blog this second and do it!! This series is HILARIOUS, taking so many fairytale clichés and completely flipping them over, while still feeling like fairytales. The best part of the books is Mendenbar and Cimorene. Cimorene is a princess who decides being a princess is too mainstream and goes off to do her own thing, like purposely be captured by a dragon and refusing rescue by any silly knights. Then there’s Mendenbar, a young king who’s not very kingly at all. Formalities and business is not his thing. Despite this, he really does want what’s best for his kingdom, he just doesn’t always know how to help it. His awkwardness and Cimorene’s strong personality (as well as both of them not liking the idea of marriage) makes for all sorts of fun. *grins*

Eanrin & Imraldera
Tales of Goldstone Wood series by Anne Elisabeth Stengl

Sadly, I’ve only read the first four books of this series, up to Starflower, so I think I’m missing a TON of their story. BUT what I’ve seen of them makes me giggle in delight while simultaneously my heart is melting all over the place. Not only is Eanrin a fae and a bard, he also can turn into a CAT. Talk about awesome. But it doesn’t stop there. He’s a charmer. You know how cats are. He’s a mess and I love him. Imraldera is very mysterious and kind but also can have a bit of a temper with that ever charming cat. You never get much of them (or as far as I am in the series), Mrs. Stengl likes to tease you with their relationship and it’s maddening and wonderful and just GAH. I love them!

Peter & Wendy
Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie

(Hey, I never said all these ships sail. These are just people I want to be together after all. You actually have to read these books to see what happens. *wink, wink*)

Some of you may be horrified. I mean, Peter and Wendy. You can’t just ship Peter and Wendy! Wendy grows up and gets married! Yes, she does. She’s a way more sensible person than I, because I don’t think I would have ever taken the responsibility to leave Neverland. (Sorry, guys, but if I ever find a fantasy world I’m not coming back!) Yes, I do ship them, and I hate myself for it. It hurts me. Because obviously I wouldn’t want Peter to leave Neverland and grow up. Of course not! He’s Peter Pan, he never grows up. That’s why we love him. While Wendy is very motherly and responsible and I wouldn’t want her any other way. She needed to leave Neverland eventually. She needed to get married and have children. That’s Wendy. The story ends how it should, but still in the depth of my heart, there’s an ache there for Peter and Wendy. Because you can’t have one without the other. So yes, I ship them. But I wouldn’t want their story any different than it is. (And wow, I got serious there. Sorry. I think my love for Peter Pan goes a bit beyond the healthy level. . . I’m, um, very passionate about that story. Ahem.)

Don’t tell me they’re not adorable.

Achan & Vrell
Blood of Kings trilogy by Jill Williamson

This is one of my top, top favorite couples! Jill Williamson writes the most real, endearing characters. Achan is an amazing hero. He’s so very human, stumbling about and making mistakes around every corner, but really, truly wanting the best for his world. Then you have Vrell, whose stubborn streak gets her in quite a few scraps. Sometimes you’re just thinking, “Stop being so stubborn, Vrell!” then turn around and want to give her a hug because she tries to do the right thing. For a huge chunk of the story, Vrell disguises herself as a boy for reasons (don’t want to spoil things), and while she knows exactly who Achan is, Achan thinks she’s just some scrawny boy he enjoys being friends with. I can’t even describe how much I wanted him to realize who she was. Oh, it was painful! But also too much fun. This trilogy is actually some of my favorite books, going right up there with the Dragons in Our Midst/Oracles of Fire series and Howl’s Moving Castle. Yes, it’s that good!

Jake and Brielle
Angel Eyes trilogy by Shannon Dittemore

The amount of adorableness between this pair is sickeningly cute. Jake comes into Brielle’s life when she returns home after a traumatic experience that leaves her depressed and broken. This carefree, jokester of a boy is exactly what she needs to pull her out of the darkness. Oh, and he also may live with his guardian angel which certainly helps. Jake is always so patient and understanding with Brielle as she tries to sort out her feelings on God and piece back together her mess of a life. Ugh. So much preciousness!

Bardon & Kale
The DragonKeeper Chronicles by Donita K. Paul

Last but absolutely in no way least, we have Bardon and Kale! These two have dragons, so that automatically makes me love them. But beyond that, Bardon is one of my favorite types of male characters, and possible the first that made me realize I like these kinds of characters. He is grumpy and sometimes sarcastic (you knew that was coming) and just in general aloof. It takes quite a bit of an adventure to find that heart of gold underneath. This free spirited, unruly girl Kale is thrown under his protection and his stiff, rule-abiding brain doesn’t even know what to do. You gotta love ‘em! Oh, they can also speak to each other telepathically. So, you know, good bonding moments there. Basically they’re hilarious and adorable and make me squeal just thinking about them.

~ ~ ~

Whew! I know that was a lot, and I actually limited myself. I was looking through the books I’ve read, figuring out which couples to do, and with every other book I was like, “I ship them. And them. And oh yeah, them! Oooh, those two were adorable. And them.” I obviously have a shipping problem. And I regret nothing!

Flailing over adorable fictional couples is one of my favorite pastimes, so flail with me, dear readers! Tell me some of your favorite couples! Do you like any of mine? Or even hate any? (I won’t attack, I promise. Just throw a cupcake at your face or something.) Better yet, make a post of your favorites yourself and linkup to Tracey's blog!

  1. Ooh yes! Eanrin and Imraldera are the BEST! I totally LOVED Starflower. :) I've only read three of the Tales of Goldstone Wood - completely wrong order too. I started with Heartless, then Draven's Light (I got those two for a birthday present) and I read my sister's copy of Starflower (she brought it for herself at the same time as my presents). I really want to read the rest of the books, but so far Starflower is my favourite. Eanrin's absolutely the best character. <3

    1. They are just precious! The timeline of those stories are so jumbled it really doesn't seem to matter what order you read them in. Veiled Rose and Moonblood are the only two I've read so far that are directly linked (Moonblood being the sequel to Veiled Rose). They're all such good books. I haven't read Draven's Light yet. I NEED to get the rest of the series!

  2. Aaaaahhhh, I LOVE this post!!! There's too much adorableness; I just can't handle it.

How shocking! I would have NEVER suspected you liked Howl and Sophie. What a surprise! ;)

Walter and Ashley! Oh my goodness, I love them so much! I included them in my post, too. (Which, by the way, I happened to publish just a half hour before you. XD) Walter and Ashley, besides being my favorite couple in the series, are also my favorite characters. They're just soooo lovable <333

Thanks for reminding me of Sapphira and Elam! I somehow forgot about them :/ They're another favorite of mine. I remember always liking Elam a lot, and they have just the sweetest, most enduring relationship. It puts new meaning into "love is patient," doesn't it?

I love that quote from The Horse and His Boy. XDDD

I'm going to have to admit, I've always kind of preferred Arwen and Aragorn. *COUGH* Most people I know go crazy over Faramir and Eowyn, but I never cared for them as much. I know, I know--I'm SORRY. I understand how you feel about them, though, and I actually do like them. Just not as much as Arwen and Aragorn. (Who are essentially perfection, in my opinion.)

I haven't heard of any of Mirriam's couples, but they look delightful! Also, BRAINTWINS. We both included Teague and Meridian! Because how could we not? They're da best! <3

Of course, Eanrin and Imraldera. I haven't read the Goldstone Wood books yet, but I know I'm going to love them. Ooh, also Achan and Vrell! They're from another series I have yet to read. But I'm already shipping the two of them. XD

This comment is getting ridiculous, but I just have to mention Peter and Wendy. I was totally thinking of including them in my post, too! I haven't finished the book yet, but I'm already shamelessly shipping them (even though I know how the story ends). They're just...adorable.

Wow. This comment is crazy long O_O (I feel like I say that every time I comment...) But I just had to let you know how much I adore this post. GIVE ME ALL THE COUPLES!!!!

    1. Hehehehe! I'm so glad. It was a BLAST to make!! All my babies. <3

I know I shocked everybody with that one. XD

I will never get over the amazingness of Walter and Ashley. And it was such a surprise! Usually you KNOW who's going to end up with who right off the bat, but those two it was gradual and then you're just like, "OH! This is perfect!" They're just so adorable! <333

Sapphira is my absolute favorite character out of the series, I HAD to add them. Love is patient! Oh my goodness, you're right. It's so true!

My favorite Narnia quote EVER. Too good. XD

There's nothing wrong with that! I mean, Aragorn is my favorite character in the trilogy period. The book version, the movie version, everything. I ADORE Aragorn. And, hello? Arwen is an ELF. Obviously I love her! They're so sweet!

Oh my goodness gracious, Mirri MUST get her books published because she basically writes the best characters on the planet. They. Are. Amazing.

TEAGUE AND MERIDIAN!!! You need to bug Deborah to post more snippets on her blog. She's written quite a few little scenes between those two and they're HILARIOUS!!!

*le gasp* You haven't read any Goldstone books? MARY. GET YOURSELF TO A BOOKSTORE. They're GORGEOUS books. And and and you haven't read the Blood of Kings trilogy either? :O I cannot express enough how much I love those books. YOU NEED TO READ THEM.

So I'm not alone in Peter and Wendy? I'm so glad! Yes, they're wonderful. Ugh. It's painful! I'm thrilled you're enjoying the book!

I told you I could fangirl over literary couples forever. I love your comment! YES. ALL THE COUPLES. <333

  5. Omigoodness you have such great taste, I love all of these except the couple I haven't read. Arguing couples are the best, especially Howl and Sophie because they aren't sappy. Everything is a fight. Love this list!

    1. D'awww, thanks! You do, too! I got the idea for some of these couples from your post!

Arguing couples are my top fave. They're too hilarious and fun. Howl and Sophie...ugh! They're just too much!!! I love how they LIKE to fight, that's how they're comfortable. The. Best.

  6. That Howl and Sophie picture made me laugh :D. Yes, true love indeed!

Walter and Ashley and Sapphire and Elam! Bryan Davis can write up the best couples. *nods* both of those two couple were some of my favorites in his books (but who am I kidding, I loved ALL the couples in his books XD).

Faramir and Eowyn! How glad I am that you included them in this post about couples! They are one of my top-favorite couples ever. It was easy for me to think of BOOK Faramir and not movie Faramir ... because I haven't watched the movie. YET. But I will. Soon :). However, my friend says they ruined Faramir in the movie ... apparently you agree?

Mirriam Neal's couples sound entirely to my liking :D. Does she have any books published?

Teague and Meridian! I love them SO much, Deborah MUST get this book written and published, the world needs to read about those two. *nods*

Oh my, Eanrin and Imraldera :D. Anne ELisabeth should write another book about them, I would totally buy it. Eanrin is pure awesomeness. For the record, he may well be my favorite character in her series :D.

I remember reading The Dragonkeeper Chronicles once, but it was a very long time ago, and it would seem I've forgotten most everything about them, except the fact that they were extremely good. I should re-read them :).

    1. Yesss! I was so excited when I found that pic. It's PERFECT.

Yes to all the things! It really is hard choosing a favorite Bryan Davis couple. They're all just too precious.

I HAD to add them. The amount of sweetness between Faramir and Eowyn turns my heart into a melted lake of feels. And yeeeeah, they destroyed Faramir in the movies. Well, in The Two Towers. He gets MUCH better in Return of the King, but still. Book Faramir wins everything. Despite all that...YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIES? :O They're my favorite movies on the PLANET. Even if I have many complaints. Hehe.

Mirri's characters win the universe! She DOES have one book published called Monster (*casually leaves Amazon link here* http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Mirriam-Neal/dp/0615825788/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1456260934&sr=8-1&keywords=Monster+Mirriam+Neal) although, shamefully, I haven't actually read that one yet. Just recently she landed a publishing deal for another book of hers, Paper Crowns (Paper Hearts is the sequel to it), and I'm THRILLED. I cannot wait for it to get published! Her books are amazing.

She really must!! Teague and Meridian kill me every time.

I think Eanrin is my favorite Goldstone Wood character as well. He's hilarious!

You should totally reread them! I love that series sooo much!!

    2. YES, I will watch the LOTR movies SOON. Seeing as I loved the Hobbit movies to death, I'm sure I'll love the LOTR movies just as much, if not more :D. And if I like them more, I may very well explode from liking them so much ...

      Delete
    3. Oh my goodness, if you like the Hobbit movies you'll LOOOOVE the LotR ones!! I'm not the biggest fan of the Hobbit ones. Well...I love them, I just have a lot of problems with them. But the LotR movies are my favoritest movies on the planet of EVER. So yes, you must see them! :D

  7. IMRALDERA AND EANRINNNNNNNN! <3 <3 <3 But oh my goodness, you haven't read past Starflower? O.O There's... a lot more to come to their relationship. So much more. Oh, dear. Protect your heart.
... Let me know if you survive Shadowhand when you get to it. You'll know what part I'm talking about once you get there. o.o

  8. Eep!!! Howl and Sophie are so cute!!! Both movie and book versions are so shippable, and the book Howl and Sophie are hilarious.
EOWYN AND FARAMIR YEEEESSS!!!! I was so mad at the movies. I didn't read all of the books (kinda skimmed some parts...*grins sheepishly*) but I looooved Eowyn and Faramir. Their romance is so beautiful. Gaaah, why didn't the movie just follow that part of the book?!?!?
And Azrael and Rooney! I love them!!! I'm so excited for Paper Crowns to be published, and I'm really hoping Paper Hearts will be published soon too. I need a paper copy of that book on my shelf.
I'm having a mind-blank on favorite ships right now (at least for books), but one of my biggest ships is Sophie and Keefe in the Keeper of the Lost Cities (A slightly fluffy series, at least at first, but it's so cute and just good clean fun and actually gets pretty epic and plot-twisty). Keefe is hilarious and always cheers Sophie up, bringing her out of her shell. Their friendship is just so sweet and eeep, so cute.
Oh YES I remembered. Percy and Annabeth from the Percy Jackson series are one of my favorite couples ever. They are hilarious! And so cute! Their relationship develops very slowly and believably.
Eanrin and Imraldera!!!! Aahhh!!! I loved Starflower. I have Shadowhand and have started reading it more times than I'd like to admit...buuuut I read some spoilers and just haven't really made myself sit down and read the book. I love The Tales of Goldstone Woods books, but they're rich and deep that it usually takes me like 100 pages or so to really get engrossed in the book.
Hahaha woops this is a really long and rambly comment...oh well. :P

    1. Another Howl-Sophie fan! *TACKLES* YESH. Both versions are amazing. I'll always be loyal to the book versions, but they were totally adorable in the movie as well.

Eowyn and Faramir are like the sweetest couple to ever grace the literary world. Their romance is the most beautiful thing. WHY movie, people? WHY???

Another person who's read Paper Crowns/Hearts!!! :D :D :D Azrael and Rooney just kill me. I am unbelievably ecstatic Paper Crowns is going to be published. And yes, Paper Hearts NEEDS to follow it. I adored Paper Crowns, but honestly, I liked Paper Hearts even better, which is saying a LOT. They're both so wonderful! *huggles books*

I've never heard of that series, but I obviously need to check it out! Those two sound adorable. I guess Sophies are just shippable people. XD

I have not read the Percy Jackson books!! I am so ashamed. But I actually own all of them (been collecting them at secondhand bookstore) and totally plan on consuming them all together SOON. I've only heard good things. I can't wait!

      Aren't they just so precious?
I know what you mean. That's probably why it's taken me yeeears to only get to the fourth book. I first read Heartless when it was NEW, and yet I'm only up to Starflower in the series. They're just the type of stories you want to take slow and not read too much at once. But that's okay. The writing is beautiful. <3

I love fangirling, so never apologize! And look at MY comment. See? I love talking with people!

(All the same... high expectations, much? O_O I'm terrified I won't get it right or that it won't be as funny or adorable once it's a BOOK and not just snippets and interviews. *hides under a certain BT tapestry* BUT I'M STILL TOTALLY WRITING IT.)

    Ahem.

BUT THE REST OF THIS POST TOO! Let me hug them allllll!!! <3

Okay, so literally the only ones of these I haven't read are the ones from later in the Dragons in Our Midst, Angel Eyes, and Bardon & Kale. O_O Like... literally every single other couple I have read and mostly ship to bits. *flails around* (Well... okay... so I haven't technically read Teague and Meridian either. XDDD) They all so need to be married yes oh my word.

Hoooooowl and Sophie!!! Ack, yes, everything you said. (Oh my goodness, you did NOT say that about his heart. O_O Yes you did. Oh my goodness.) (THAT FAN ART THOUGH! O_O) I need to reread that book this second. <3

I had no idea Walter and Ashley were a thing...? o.o Wow. (Or maybe I did and forgot? What about Karen then? Or maybe I'm mixing up the characters in my head, sorry. :x)

"Best. Romance. Ever." I'm dying. XD Yes, Shasta and Aravis though. <3

    LAKSJD;LFKJS;LDFKJSLDKFJ FARAMIR AND EOWYN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3
...Ahem. You proooobably know how I feel about them, like Howl and Sophie... *cough* But yes, they're like my favorite ever. ^_____^ “No longer do I desire to be a queen,” she said. Then Faramir laughed merrily. “That is well,” he said; “for I am not a king." THAT THAT THAT. Oh my goodness, how I love them. You're making me want to reread the books!!! <3 *flails and huggles them* They're just perfect.

Okay, I seriously could write paragraphs just flailing about all the rest of the characters you mentioned but I must restrain myself. *cough*

BUT BUT AZRAEL AND ROONEYYYYY AND ANGEL AND EASTON AND CIMORENE AND MENDANBARRRRRR!!!! *flails around* BESSSSSSSSSSST!!!! <3

I haven't read very far in Goldstone Wood yet sooo I don't know much about Imraldera and Eanrin, but I'm sure I'll get on board. XD

Wow, that Peter Pan musing is... wow. o.o And yes. *nods*

And ACK Achan and Vrell too! I shipped them so hard too!

And I haven't read Bardon but he sounds like my type too...

Anyways, YESSS, all of the shipping! This post was awesome! :D I LOVE IIIIT!!! *huggles all of the loverly charries*

OF COURSE THEY ARE THERE. THEY ARE HILARIOUS AND WONDERFUL AND JUST *HUGS THEM* I LOVE THEM SO MUUUUCH!!!!
(Wait, it's bad manners to die on a blog's comments? Oh man, I'm the worst mannered blogger in the world then. Eheh. XD)
Don't you even THINK about worrying if it's "good enough" or not!! I have never once read anything of yours I didn't just absolutely adore. Just be your fun self and have FUN. It's going to be amazing. SO YES. WRITE IT. *FLAAAILS*

"They all so need to be married..." XDDDD YES THEY DO.

HOWL AND SOPHIE!!!!! I mean, HOWL AND SOPHIE. Just...LJSLDJF:LJDF. MY BABIES. (And yes I did say that about his heart. *whistles innocently*) I want to read it again too, even though it wasn't THAT long ago I reread it...for the 3rd time. BUT HOWL AND SOPHIE. Isn't that fanart amazing??

Ooooops. I guess that is kind of a spoiler...? I should have been more careful over who I chose because of spoilery reason. Whoops! And no, you're not mixing people up. You've got it all right. *nods* But that's all I'm saying. *zips lips*

Shasta and Aravis kill me. XD

YESSSSSH!!! Obviously they HAD to make it to the list. There's not another more precious couple on the planet!
YES. THAT QUOTE. That part is my favorite, too. UGH. THOSE TWO. I made myself want to reread the book as well. It's been AGES since I've read it last. o.o

      ALL THOSE PEOPLES. YES.
(And I DID write a whole paragraph (or two) about each couple, so yeah, I understand. XD)

Oh, you'll LOVE Eanrin and Imraldera. I know you will. They're amazing.

Ehehehe. *cough* I get a liiittle carried away when it comes to Peter Pan. Everyone probably thinks I'm crazy... It's just always been a huge part of my life. I can't help it!

SO much shipping with Achan and Vrell. Gracious me.

CELTI. YOU NEED TO READ THE DRAGONKEEPER BOOKS. You'll ADORE Bardon. I mean, my squishy and I used to flail over him in each email we sent each other. We're obsessed. XD

THANK YOU. I had too much fun putting this post together! *huggles them with you*

    2. *revives old conversation*

Deb, I think you just might love the Dragonkeeper Chronicles! Wizard Fenworth alone is reason enough to read them. :D It's been a long time since I read them, but I feel like the humor would appeal to you.

  10. Ooh, I really want to read Blood of Kings and Tales of Goldstone Wood! I have seen much flailing over both of them on the internet.

My favorite fictional couples would have to be...
-Jace and Kyrin from Jaye L. Knight's Ilyon Chronicles
-Trask and Anne, also from the Ilyon Chronicles
-Parvin Blackwater and Solomon Hawke from the Out of Time trilogy by Nadine Brandes
-Janner Igiby and Sarah Cobbler from The Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson (they are kids, and theirs isn't a romance . . . but still, I love them!)

I actually haven't read any of the books you listed, except for the Horse and His Boy and LOTR. But I have a nagging feeling that I'm totally missing out. :D So I shall read them.

    1. The Blood of Kings trilogy is seriously one of my top favorite series that exists. They are sooo good. The the Goldstone Wood stories just... *clutches heart* Pure gorgeousness. If anything has a beautiful, enchanted, fairytale feel, it's those books. They're amazing! Yes, you must give them both a try sometime!

What's so sad is I haven't read any of the ones on your list either. D: I actually have a copy of Resistance sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. I've only heard good things about that story. I must read it soon! And the others I have on my to-read list. They all sound wonderful, and now you're making me want to read them even more!

Also, you're my newest follower! :D Thank you so much for following. I'm thrilled to have you over here on my little corner of the interwebs. ^_^

    2. I MUST get my hands on the Tales of Goldstone Wood. But there's just so many! *sighs because books cost money* :P

OH YES. The Ilyon Chronicles is just seriously good. I'm over here dying while waiting for the third book to come out. And I would I have to say that the Wingfeather Saga is my favorite series in existence. So. Good. :D

Oh, yes! :D I'm thrilled as well. I've kind of been lurking around for the past few weeks but never commented or followed. :P

    3. I know that problem! Too many books, not enough money. #bookwormprobs

I am so ashamed I haven't read the Ilyon books yet. I've been meaning to for the longest!
Oh, the Wingfeather Saga is your favorite? Okay, now I seriously need to get my hands on these things!

D'awww! Well, I'm so glad you commented. ^_^

  11. These are some pics! I love Achan+Vrell, Jake+Brielle, Elam+Sapphira (my favorite out of the ones you've listed), Walter+Ashley, Aravis+Cor, Peter+Wendy, and Faramir+Eowyn. So many good couples! I love Eowyn and Faramir so much too. Eowyn is my favorite female character ever!

Eowyn is AH-MAY-ZING. I simply adore her. Feminine but strong. So very human and so very brave. She is the best!

  13. It appears I'm late to my own party! Again!

I keep saying it, but I NEED HMC.

Walter and Ashley! They're just perfect together. I love how Walter's playfulness and easygoing nature meshes with Ashley's intense personality. And Sapphira and Elam definitely deserve all the hugs. Talk about longsuffering!

Shasta and Aravis--gotta love that last bit of The Horse and His Boy, am I right? XD

Okay, I'm sad to say that I remember very little about Faramir and Eowyn from the books. But seeing as I'm watching the movies for the first time, I'll get a chance to jog my memory soon. (Plus, I'm due for a reread of the books.)

EASTEL, YESH. Oh gosh, their dialogue together is the best. I've only heard (read?) a bit about Azrael and Rooney, but they sound PERFECT. Does it make sense for them to remind me of Howl and Sophie, even though I haven't read about either couple...? o.o

Teague and Meridian. YES YES YES. I should've remembered to include them on my list too, because I absolutely adore their banter. (Hmm, sensing a common thread here...)

I've never heard of Mendenbar and Cimorene, but they sound great. *snorts* She decides being a princess is too mainstream? XD

EANRIN AND IMRALDERA FOREVER. <333 Just wait till you read more of the series, Christine! It only gets better (or worse? or both? I don't even know).

Peter Pan and Wendy... *sigh* I've yet to read Peter Pan (I know, I know, it's atrocious of me), but I know the story well enough to empathize with you. Some fictional couples are like that--you want them together, but you know it could never be, and maybe shouldn't be, and yet... </3

I really need to read the Blood of Kings trilogy. As well as Angel Eyes. *ducks away from leaning TBR stack*

Oh, it's been so long since I read about Bardon and Kale! I loved their telepathy as a couple. ^_^ How great would it be to communicate to your spouse without words? To instantly convey impressions and experiences without trying to explain them?

Lovely post, m'dear! (Ha, see what I did there? Ahem. Terrible humor.) Thanks muchly for joining in again!

    1. The party is open 24/7. ;D

And I keep saying it but YES YOU DO!

Yes to all the things! Bryan Davis's couples tug at my heartstrings from every angle.

Probably my favorite part of the whole Narnia series. XD

YOU'RE WATCHING THE LOTR MOVIES???? *screams and runs in circles* YOU MUST TELL ME WHAT YOU THOUGHT. Once you're done that is. They're only my favorite movies on the planet. Though I'm very calm about. *cough, cough, cough*
Sadly, Eowyn and Faramir's relationship doesn't really get any screen time. Just one (rather cheesy really) scene. And it's only in the extended editions, didn't even make it into the originals. But still, Eowyn is AMAZING. And Faramir...gets amazing. They totally ruined him in The Two Towers but he becomes more how Faramir was SUPPOSED to be portrayed in Return of the King. Still #bookversionforever
And I should probably stop now or I'll go on about this for hours...

Mirri's characters are basically the best literary creations on the planet. AND YOU ARE NOT WRONG ABOUT AZRAEL AND ROONEY. :O That's why I love them and their book so much. It's sooo very HMC-ish. It's great!

Teague and Meridian are so amazing. I just can't. CAN'T.

*LE GASP* You've never read The Enchanted Forest chronicles? TRACEY. You'd love those books! Their fairytales that basically make fun of all the fairytale cliches and just rollicking fun. The first book is Dealing with Dragons. You should check it out. *hint, hint* *nudge, nudge* Not that I'd EVER make your TBR bigger. Nooo.

I seriously need to get on with that series. Although now I'm scared... I sense pain in my future.

Yes! Everything you said! Some things are bittersweet, and you know they ended for the best. But a piece of you wishes maybe it turned out differently. UGH. So many emotions!

*secretly adds said books to your TBR stack*
      *whistles innocently*

It's been a while for me, too. I've been wanting to reread them.
I know, right? Telepathy would be amazing. Although maybe a little invading too. XD

Ha! You're the best! <3 And, again, THANK YOU for making this linkup. This was my favoritest edition!!

  15. Okay, this is so late, but I just want to say that I love this post, though I know hardly any of the characters. I followed the links for all the books you talked about and set them as to-read. :D (Which is a problem, since I already have waaay to many books on my TBR list. How....)

ALSO. Peter and Wendy. YES. I completely agree and sympathize with your assessment of their story. I wouldn't change it for the world, and yet....:"(

    1. That is okay! I actually get a thrill when I receive a comment on an old post because it means people are still reading it. ^_^ And MEEP. Thank you! That makes me happy you enjoyed this one! I may have had way too much fun making it. XD You added them to your to-read shelf? Awwww, so cool!!! (But gracious, do I understand the struggles of a dangerously large TBR. #BookwormProbs)

PETER AND WENDY. Yes! It's so beautiful and sad and just...ALL THE FEELS. *sobs*
