“A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes. . .”

I like the simple things in life. My favorite time of the day is right before bed when I can curl up and read before drifting off to sleep. Sometimes I like to just sit outside and do absolutely nothing but watch the clouds pass by. My heart did a little trill at the sound of thunder just now, the prospect of a stormy day to write thrilling me.

But, despite how nice the simple things in life are, we all need a little excitement. Even the quietest people dream big.

Me, I love the idea of adventures and excitement. As pleasant as those quiet moments are, the extrovert in me craves the chaotic thrills of life.

The absolutely precious Andrea Nan @ Fantasies and Fountainpens has passed on the Bucket List Tag my way. Dreaming of those big, exciting things I’d love to do before I die is always fun, so I was very excited to be nominated. Thank you so much, Andrea! And everyone do go check out her blog. She’s a true delight.

The Bucket List Tag Button

There doesn’t seem to really be rules along with this tag. Which is good because I usually break the rules anyway, don’t I? You post a few of the things on your bucket list, pass the tag on to others to do the same if you so wish, and there you have it!

So what sort of chaotic nonsense do I dream of doing before dying? Well. . .

Bucket List - Own a Pet Fox

Did you know I have a slight obsession with foxes? No? Oh. Well, I do. They’re one of my top favorite animals in fact. Actually having one as a pet, well, that is the dream. A fennec fox specifically though. They’re probably the most adorable creatures on the planet of ever.

And while we’re on the subject of animals. . .

Bucket List - Hug a Penguin

Did you know I’m also exceedingly obsessed with penguins? Seriously, I LOVE those adorable things. But since having one for a pet probably wouldn’t go over so well, I’ll just have to settle for hugging one.

Bucket List - Have My Own Personal Library

It’s gonna happen! This has been my dream since I learned what a library is! I want a room dedicated completely to books. Over packed with them. I can smell the magic seeping from that room already. . .

Bucket List - Become a Writer

Well, actually, I am a writer. But I’m not published yet, and that’s what I dream of. One of my very top dreams in fact. It may be the top.

Bucket List - Meet My Online Friends

I LOVE you guys! You’re some of my closest friends. So to actually meet in person. . .that would be beyond amazing.

Bucket List - Skydive

Okay, this one may not actually be possible due to health problems but, man, do I wish I could. So, SO much! I’m one of those crazies who actually adores heights. Yeah, I’m weird.

Bucket List - Visit Ireland

This one goes very near the top of the list and I have every intention of doing it someday. Out of all the countries in the world, Ireland is my first choice to visit. I must someday!

Bucket List - Go to London

And England is probably my second choice (or New Zealand, it’s a close call). But London specifically. What I would give to go there!

Bucket List - Travel to All 7 Continents

Why not just go to ALL the places? I would love to travel the world!

Bucket List - Attend a Masquerade

Yes, yes, yes! Why aren’t these still things?

Bucket List - Learn How to Draw

Another thing that probably will never be reality. I just don’t think I have the talent for it. My stick people looked deformed. No joke. But I’ve always had such a desire to be able to draw. I’m constantly thinking up things I would love to draw. But, alas, I can’t even make a smiley face look right. I guess I’ll always just have to paint pictures with words. But that’s okay. I wouldn’t give up storytelling for the world.

Bucket List - Move into an Apartment with My Best Friend

We’ve already started picking out furniture. *cough, cough* Hey, ya never know. It could happen. If we’re both still unmarried in our 30s. . . *shrugs* It’s always an option. But. . .

Bucket List - Get Married

This is obviously one of the top things on the list. It has definitely always been one of my greatest wishes. But I’ve handed it over to God. Whatever He sees fit for my life is okay with me. ^_^

Bucket List - Ride in a Hot Air Balloon

Oddly enough, this is one of the very top things. I have this weird obsession with hot air balloons. I don’t know what it is about them, but I just love them! I MUST have at least one hot air balloon ride before I die. It’s not a want, it’s a neeeed.

And lastly but by FAR leastly. . .

Bucket List - Go to an Owl City Concert

This is very, very, very, VERY high on the list. To see my favoritest music artist live in concert? Just. . .just. . . There are no words. It must happen. It MUUUUST!!!! (And this is so weird, an Owl City song just came on in my iTunes playlist while I’m typing this, out of 270 random songs. o.O)

That was a total blast to do. Thank you again, Andrea!

And since I have no idea who’s all interested in participating (but I secretly want you all to do it) I’m nominating no one and everyone. I would LOVE to see your lists, but I also understand if you don’t want to do it. Sooo if you do, take this tag. It’s yours. I insist! Or if you don’t want to blog about it, how about telling me your list in the comments? I would love to know what everyone dreams of doing one day with their lives. It’s fun to dream big.

Well, off I go to write. I can at least work toward something on this list right now, can’t I?

Hope you’re all doing wonderfully right now in this beautiful mess we call life. <3

  1. Ireland is also at the top of my travel list! It just looks so beautiful, and there are so many castles and ruins to visit. And I'd love to visit every continent... though maybe not Antarctica. I'm not a huge fan of cold. :)

    1. Absolutely! There's just so much about Ireland that captures my heart. I love almost everything about it.

Well, I love the cold but Antarctica may be a little intense, yes. ;)

  2. I think I'd put almost every single thing here on my own list. :D Almost. (Skydiving, eh, not so much.)
A masquerade would be utterly magical! Oh goodness, now you have me imagining gorgeous ballgowns, masks, dancing (something I'm not good at, but hey, whatever), princes...
And OWL CITYYYYYYY YES! I have a concert DVD, but alas, I've never been to the real thing. He needs to tour in Canada... ;)

    1. Yay for brain twins! :D
Oh my goodness, yes! Can you imagine how fun? Why aren't those common things anymore? Really. We should bring them back into style. Except dancing is definitely not my forte either...
OWL CITY!!!!!!!!!! My obsession for it is a little on the unhealthy side. I MUST find a way to attend one of his concerts someday.

    2. :D
Oh that would be splendid! We really should bring them back. Heheh, I'm just picturing holding a masquerade for my next birthday party. In, uh, the ballroom I have in the basement... and we'll all wear those lovely gowns that are so easy and inexpensive to obtain. :P But ah, it would be dreamy. We'd just have to modify the event to not include dancing, but rather something else...?
You let me know if you ever get the chance, and I will do a happy dance from my side of the screen. XD

    3. There you go! Easy peasy! And instead of dancing um...musical chairs! *dies laughing at that image* *composes self* Ahem. Perhaps not.

Same to you! Perhaps we'll both get the chance someday. One can only hope!

Yes, Matt is finally following and commenting on your blog, Lauri -- er, Christine! Sorry it took me so long. XD

    1. MATTIFORD! HELLO. It's so good to see you over here! Don't worry a thing about it. I'm the worst about regularly commenting, trust me. But I am honored you'd pop over here. I miss you and all those crazy Purple Elephants.

AND YES. Owl City concert is a NEEED.

    2. Glad to be here! :D We miss you too. Are you going to be doing NaNo this year? That may have been a dumb question. XD But still.

YESH! Have you ever seen his Live in Los Angeles DVD?

    3. Oh yes, most definitely! I'll probably do NaNo until my fingers are too old and brittle to type. ;) I'm actually superbly excited for it! (But also a tad terrified at how close it is. o.O) And I'll throw the question back, but I'm pretty sure I know the answer. Are YOU doing NaNo?

Why no, no I have not. O_O Is this something I need to be shoveling money into? Like, now?

    4. Sounds great! I'm actually not 100% sure about me, though. More like 99% sure. What with school and my job, I'm afraid I won't have time for it -- more accurately, though, I'm afraid I won't have time to win. XD I'd hate to break my streak, you know? But I think it would be a good challenge, and I'd hate to miss out on it. So I'll probably end up doing it. :D

Well, if you can't really afford shoveling money into it, I guess not... but if you can, absolutely positively! It's fantastic. ^__^

    5. Yes, I totally understand. November does tend to be an insane month, NaNo or no NaNo. But I think that's why I love NaNo so much, it teaches us how to fit writing into our lives no matter how busy we are. But, there are just going to be some years that don't work out. I hope you'll be able to do it though. ^_^

Haha. Yeeeah. I'm broke, but maybe someday... It sounds great!

    6. Well, I don't know if you'll read this (been several days, lol), but I've decided I'm going to give NaNo a shot! It'll be crazy, but also crazy fun. >:D

I saw the DVD because my library had it -- you could always check yours!

    7. I actually get an email whenever someone comments, so even if you comment on a post I did a year back I'd still see it. So no worries at all!

So you are doing NaNo? YAY!!!! I'm so glad you decided to! Yes, crazy and crazy fun describes NaNo perfectly. ;) Maybe I'll pop over to the PE thread sometime in October or November to say hey. ^_^

      That's a good idea! I should check.

  4. I enjoyed.reading this. It's been awhile since I visited, love the new look of your blog. There is one thing on your list that I would never do and that's sky diving. I went to London when I was in high school. It was a wonderful experience. I've had close encounters with foxes from time to time, thankfully from the comfort of my car. Never heard of owl city. Need to check that our.

    1. I'm so honored to see you over here. Thank you so much for visiting!

In truth, I probably won't ever skydive myself. But I think it'd be a lot of fun! I understand not wanting to do it though. Actual diving, like in the ocean, terrifies me beyond belief. You couldn't pay me to do that! I'm good with heights, not so much the water.

You've been to London? That's amazing! I bet you did have a good time. ^_^ And that's so neat you've actually seen foxes before. But yes, from a distance is probably the best. ;)

Owl City is a band basically done by one person, Adam Young. He's a Christian and does a few Christian songs but most of his music is...he's hard to describe. He has very whimsical lyrics. He's definitely my favorite musical artist! I don't think I've ever come across music quite like his. Although occasionally he can sound a little too close to pop which I don't appreciate.
